UM - Matheson - AD Barnes

I spent the morning with Peter from New Jersey looking for a few target birds and migrants. At UM we found SPOT-BREASTED ORIOLE and WHITE-WINGED PARAKEETS then headed to Matheson to look for Black-whiskered Vireo that Toe saw early in the morning. We did not find one but we did find quite a few birds that apparently came in after Toe left. We saw nothing out of the ordinary but plenty to keep us busy.

From there we went to AD Barnes and found good numbers of warblers at the hammock area near the gate at the board walk and even more birds at and around the cabins.

Black-throated Blue (10)
Wormeating (2)
Red Start (3)
Yellow-rump
Red-eyed Vireo (2)
Blue-headed Vireo
Black-whiskered Vireo (heard)

Two days and much effort went into trying to find a Black-whiskered Vireo, including spending many hours in Key Largo, and only heard one. WOW.... We did find some other good birds and Peter was happy, but not to find a Black-whis
