Just like last Tuesday at Green Cay, we have a nice little flock of warblers on the Chickee Island. Good numbers of redstart, black-throated blue, blackpoll, common yellow-throat, cape may and parula. Also we found one worm-eating warbler mixed in and a palm. 2 Indigo Buntings were on the island, male and female.
As always we have plenty of babies being born at Green Cay including killdeer, mottled ducks, moorhen, martins, starlings, cardinals, red-bellied woodpeckers, grackles, red-winged blackbirds, and doves. The stilts look like they are all paired up as well as the black-bellied whistling ducks. There is at least one green heron nest as well.
