Had an influx of Cape May and Black-throated Blues today. It seems all the Yellow-throated, which were the most numerous migrant I observed last week (other than Parulas, Palm, Prairie), were replaced today. Didn't have that much time to bird this morning before it got windy but it was nice to see some new arrivals.
And no Connecticut Warblers were seen today. Or yesterday. Or tomorrow. Not until late late April or early May. Just in case the Connecticut Warbler Police are reading my posts again.
Here is something a bit different to put in your pipe and smoke. I was out in a remote part of Big Cypress south of Loop Rd a couple of weeks ago checking on some remnant RCW clusters and I heard quite the interesting 10 sec bird call. It was the loudest nuthatch I have ever heard. Stopped me in my tracks. Maybe Cornell missed something :) Puff, Puff, Pass.
