A quick afternoon stroll through Castellow Hammock rendered the following highlights among others:
Common Nighthawk, single indiv. flying and calling overhead
Blue-headed Vireo, singing
Indigo Bunting, various females & males (still non-breeding plumage)
Carolina Wren, one adult chased by a recently-fledged young, whose wheezy chirps could be heard loudly
Northern Parula, singing
Many Prairie Warblers around
American Redstart
Black-and-white Warbler, perfect breeding male
Ovenbird
Purple Martin, active near larger martin house, singing and swooping down if you get too close
And Much More.
