Hi, i'm looking in the Pranty birdfinding guide, 1996, p. 228, which gives the address for Kendall Elementary as 9300 SW 79th Avenue. My recollection is that the location is just a few short blocks west of Hwy 1. SW 79th Ave runs north-south. When i first went there, i actually went inside the school building looking for an administrator because i did not know where to go, but which i don't think is necessary. the garden, while small, is just north of the main school building and has lots of native plants and btw is also good for butterflies. Access was via a small parking lot adjacent to and north of the garden. The orioles were also seen coming and going across the road to/from the residential area. The Pranty book says the garden is also good for the bulbuls, but i did not see them there. I have seen some good warblers in this small garden, though.... Good luck! -ken in birmingham, alabama
