I'm currently in tennessee birding the Cumberland mountains and have got to see a few migrants during my stay. I have seen both Black-and-white Warbler and Black-throated Green Warbler. But I also saw a thrush species different from the hermit thrush that are around. This thrush had a bold eye-ring and had greyish flanks, it also looked a much duller grey-brown in color and did not appear to have a reddish tail. Could this bird be a Swainson's Thrush or is it too early for them to be this far north.
I have also seen Purple Finch, Golden-crowned Kinglet, White-crowned Sparrow, and aBlack-capped chickadee up in the smokies.
Please help me I'd my thrush,
The Teenage Birder
