I also made it there today, and the woods were LOUD with birds (unfortunately, most of which I could not ID ;(
Of note - Male Painted Bunting, Male Indigo Bunting, Pileated Woodpecker flyover, many Great Crested Flycatchers and Catbirds, many Wood Storks, Blue-Grey Gnatcatchers, a Belted Kingfisher and 3 Swallow-tailed Kites at very close range!
Report of deer and a family of otters at the Strand right before I arrived.
If anyone ever wants to part with a bird iPod, please let me know. I've got to figure out the calls that drive me mad along that road.
