If you are staying in Homestead, Everglades National Park has been recently reliable for both these species. I just spent the last few days in Hole in The Donut, and saw 3 recently-fledged Limpkins which were actively feeding and calling nearly all day directly south of the berm off Gate 15. 2 Snail Kites were also feeding in the general area surrounding the same berm and flew quite close, giving excellent looks. An adult male Snail Kite has been around the area but I did not see it this past week.
To get to Hole in The Donut, drive into the Royal Palm area near ENP entrance, take the road towards the research center, and drive down the unpaved road towards Hidden Lake (Old Ingraham Highway), continue down to Gate 15 and park. Walk to the first visible mound (berm) and look in all directions- limpkins have been particularly vocal at daybreak. Sandhill Cranes often visit the area at dusk.
Sora have been calling often
King Rails and Least Bitterns also heard
good luck
