I stopped at the C-111E for a few minutes on my way back from ENP. The second fig on the north bank of the canal is loaded with fruit, and there were plenty of birds, especially Parulas. While I was there, Rock Jetty called me to say he was looking at a calling Brown-crested Flycatcher at Matheson Hammock near the picnic area. As soon as I hung up, the Brown-crested that's been hanging around the C-111E showed up near the same fig tree and gave me great looks. It didn't call for me today, but last week it wouldn't stop calling for me and Trey with its "Whip" call. I got great looks at all the field marks, though, especially the undertail. I was hoping for a Grosbeak. Go figure.
In ENP, I had a singing Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow .9 miles south of Mahogany Hammock, plus my FOTS Barn Swallow and a few Swallowtail Kites.
