There is another article coming out with updated information about this orchid discovery. What he left out of the article was the 1978-80 discovery in Miami-Dade County near Tamiami Airport. I photographed it in flower there in 1980 but it hasn't been seen again since this discovery of over 90 plants in the Fakahatchee last week.
They reported seeing lots of limpkins out there too, and barred owls calling.
