This Peregrine has been here in Downtown all winter, and perhaps is the same bird that has been coming here for several years now. This photo was taken this morning on the 11th floor by Hiram Macias. I ve seen this bird perched as high as the 16th floor, which is not bad considering the building is 17 floors high. It always prefers the NW corner of the building, perhaps because it overlooks an open parking lot with trees and wires, ideal for targeting doves. I was at a window recently with the bird easily no more than 4 feet from me. It s not often you get so close to a Peregrine.
