Here are the directions to the owl house: http://www.tropicalaudubon.org/tasboard/messages/26894.html
One owl (gray morph) has been staying inside the house, and pops its head out occasionally.
The second owl(red morph)has been roosting in the small slash pine right off the boardwalk at the same location as the house. Look for it perched up against the trunk about three feet from the top.
We took my mom to Green Cay frequently. She loved that park dearly. For "Ma" Green Cay was a place of renewal, peace, and discovery. Last year when it began to look as though Ma did not have much longer to go, I obtained three owl houses. One for my yard, and two for Ma to donate. "Hootie," the wildlife ambassador for Okeeheelee Nature Center lives in one. Hootie the screech owl is not able to care for himself, and he lives inside the center. His box is his "inner sanctum ". The third house was hung at Green Cay. Even when my mom's short term memory was nearly gone, she always knew when we were approaching her owl house. She was ever in hope that we would find that an owl family had taken up residence. Unfortunately, my mom passed away about a month before the house got its first tenant.
