Toe and I went out before sunrise hoping to see a Clapper Rail, no luck there but we did find some good birds. Once we got off the trail we found Marsh Wren and many Swamp Sparrows. We also heard a Chuck-wills-widow off in the distance. The area is a dry as I have experienced and that may be why we neither saw nor hear any rails. I got my feet wet but that was due to carelessness, but overall the walk was pretty dry. The walk was well worth the effort.
