Torry Island is at the southern end of Lake Okeechobee, in beautiful Belle Glade. It is home to the Belle Glade Marina & Campground and Slims Fish Camp. Most of the island is wetlands, originally a giant pond apple swamp, now fallow farmland and SFWMD property. Much of the island is accessible only by boat. Don't drive down Torry Island Road with a car with low clearance--from experience.
