I was able to do a little casual birding last weekend in the San Diego area. Highlights included: Heermann's Gull, Townsend's Warbler, (Audubon's) Yellow-rumped Warbler (hundreds), Anna's Hummingbird (many), Black Phoebe, Western Scrub Jay, Bewick's Wren, Purple Finch, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, Brewer's Blackbird, American Wigeon, Redhead, Calif. Towhee, and Cassin's, Hutton's and Warbling Vireos.
I hiked the coastal trails at Torrey Pines State Reserve and was able to photograph many local and endangered plants, some of which can be seen at the link below (scroll down):
