The Tropical Kingbird is still around at Dump Marsh. This morning it was on snags on the west side of the canal across from the pond behind the wastewater plant. Walking along the canal, go past the plant and look for an opening in the trees across the canal about even with the third clump of cattails in the pond. The kingbird was perched on the last snag before the
opening.

On the pond bank, there was a Louisiana Waterthrush working the shore and the base of the reeds. I haven't seen a waterthrush at this spot all winter, so I wonder if it's an early migrant. Maybe not coming back from the Caribbean, but perhaps working its way north from the lower tip of the state.

The Yellow Warbler was on the same tree where I saw it back in November, on the Kingbird side of the canal but much closer to the bridge. There were no gulls at all at Cutler Wetlands, so no shot at the Black-headed Gull. It may still be around, but seeing it depends on when they decide to make themselves accessible.
