The South Florida Water Management District is fully aware of presence of Purple Swamphens (PUSWs)in all of the STAs. They have put much effort into the "removal" of them and are also weighing all of their options with regard to this species. They are also looking into the possible impact that they may have on other closely related species. However, if you see PUSWs in other areas you should probably still report them.
