The STA-5 group saw a Krider's Red-tailed Hawk while driving out from Blumberg Road in Palm Beach County.
I found a Krider's Red-tailed Hawk in the Chekika Unit of Everglades National Park in November 2008. I found it after turning left at the T intersection and going all the way to the end, making another left after the road no longer goes south. From there, I drove up to where the pavement ends. I saw the Krider's right beside my car perched on a rock (talk about up close and personal!).
The bird later flew and circled the area -- I have not seen it since, but admittedly I have only been there once since then. Beautiful bird.
Carlos
