I drove out to a reliable local field in Wellington. Despite a recent mowing, I had 4 meadowlarks singing.
At STA-1 East I had the usual suspects including many Savannah Sparrows, a single wood stork and lone roseate spoonbill. I also heard two towhees.
two id questions came up:
1.) The large terns (I saw three) @ STA-would they be royal or caspian?
2.) At two brushy spots I heard this call: "Chick-wizza-wizza". Any guesses?
