Many, many birds this morning, including

fulvous whistling duck (1 in NE corner)
canvasback (6, NE corner)
northern shoveler (M/F pair in 4th pond if you walk counterclockwise)
northern pintail (12-20 M, 6-8 F that I could identify, but probably more)
white pelican (40-60)
peregrine falcon (1)
Caspian tern (1)
black skimmer (2 flocks of several dozen each--gorgeous when they would fly around)
many common shorebirds (yellowlegs, LB dowitcher, least sandpiper), plus 3 black-necked stilt

This place is similar to STA-5 except that it is much smaller (about 4 miles on the longest loop), open all day Fri.- Mon., and basically unused. I have been there 7-8 times now, and except for my wife Sandy who has gone several times, I have not seen another person much past the entrance.
