: I got a call from Rafael Galvez yesterday just before dark. He was at Fox's Lounge in South Miami and was witnessing hundreds, if not thousands, of Rough-winged Swallows streaming north overhead. He also saw a huge swarm of them funneling above South Miami Hospital about the same time. Did anyone else see this?

Those Rough-winged Swallows are Purple Martins! They are roosting at the Wendy's located at US1 and Red Road. Look into the large Mahogany Tree in the southwest corner of the parking lot. The birds start arriving in the early evening. Perhaps there are some Rough-winged Swallows mixed in with them but I have not seen them here. It is quite an unbelievable sight!!

There is an even larger roost on the north side of the Dadeland Mall. Drive to the north side of Dadeland Mall and look across the canal, there are apartments here. The Martins roost in the trees here. I should have posted this sooner.
