It is always exciting to catch a photograph of a banded bird and even more exciting to get the details. Oystercatcher # Green F(7) was photographed at Bunche Beach this past January MLK weekend. And here is the rest of the story in case anyone else in Sanible area runs across this bird.
"Hi Paul,
Thanks for sending in the band report and excellent photo. I banded Green(F7) as a breeding adult on Cape Hatteras National Seashore in June 2005. This bird has returned to nest every season since that time. Apparently it likes Bunche Beach in the winter, as it was reported from that location in 2005/2006 and 2006/2007. I did not get a report on this bird last winter, but clearly it still likes the Sun Coast!
