Never, EVER walk outside with your parrots/lorikeets on your shoulder. These birds will respond to predators by shrieking and flying away. A Cooper's Hawk regularly visits my balcony where my cockatiels happily live. The balcony is screened in, so the hawk can't get to them, but the cockatiels are absolutely terrified of it and have already injured themselves in their attempts to get away. There are too many stories of unfortunate pet birds out of their cage on some patio or yard getting nabbed by the local raptor.
