Good afternoon Roberto,

My post specifically referred to verifiable (i.e., photographic or specimen) records; my post does not refer to sight reports.

My bird-finding guides (1996 and 2005) have listed those Neotropical migrants for which no verifiable records existed.

Several species have been verified in the past 15 years or so, and papers documenting most of these species have been published in _Florida Field Naturalist_. Robertson and Woolfenden (1992, Florida Bird Species: An Annotated List and Stevenson and Anderson (1994, The Birdlife of Florida) also discussed Neotropical migrants not verified in the state during winter.

The following species have been documented since 1994:

Swallow-tailed Kite (2007)
Mississippi Kite (2003)
Common Nighthawk (2005)
Eastern Kingbird (1994)
Cliff Swallow (2004)
Blue-winged Warbler (2004)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (2001)
Black-throated Green Warbler (2000)
Magnolia Warbler (2003)
Rose-breasted Grosbeak (2002)
Bobolink (1997)

The list of Neotropical species for which there STILL are no known (i.e., publsihed) records in Florida during winter (1 Dec-28 or 29 Feb) includes:

Upland Sandpiper
Buff-breasted Sandpiper
White-rumped Sandpiper
Least Tern
Black-billed Cuckoo
Chimney Swift
Eastern Wood-Pewee
Red-eyed Vireo
Black-whiskered Vireo
Philadelphia Vireo
Yellow-bellied Flycatcher
Acadian Flycatcher
Veery
Gray-cheeked Thrush
Swainson's Thrush (one record from 1 Dec)
Golden-winged Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Bay-breasted Warbler
Blackpoll Warbler
Cerulean Warbler
Canada Warbler
Scarlet Tanager

Also, there is no known winter record of Short-billed Dowitcher INLAND in Florida during winter.

Best regards,

Bill Pranty
