A visit to the wetlands and dump marsh produced the usual suspects: Tropical kingbird, blue-gray gnatcatcher, yellow-rumped, prairie, palm and orange-crowned warblers.
The only surprise was very close looks (15') at a spotted sandpiper that was working the banks of the canal/inlet that runs SE along the south side of Black Point. I was walking along the path on the S side of the canal. At the end of the trail there was a huge flotilla of gulls, but too far out for good looks without a scope.
