One of my friends went on one of those all day commercial deep sea fishing trips to catch "the big one" with his family last Saturday and he said there were some birders out on the boat too. He is not a birder but knew I would be interested to know what they saw out there. He wrote the birds down on a paper towel and told me what the birders saw. The boat left off the Keys about 15 miles out and took a couple hours. Seen were:

Glossy Ibis- I am not sure why they were out there.
Sooty Tern- many
Bridled Tern- a couple
Magnificent Frigatebird
Brown Pelican
Double-crested Cormorant
Masked Booby
Audubon's Shearwater
Greater Shearwater
Cory's Shearwater
Leache's Storm-Petrel
White-crowned Pigeon- 3 a couple miles from land

I can't wait to see some of those on my very first pelagic trip of Islamarada on the 26!
