We started the day out at Cutler Wetlands, where we were treated to at least 5 species of gull. We also observed a pack of wild dogs rampaging through the wetlands...maybe that's why there are fewer and fewer ducks there these days?
At Chekika I saw this warbler, that I have been having difficulty identifying. Is it just an oddly colored common yellowthroat? (Carlos: you were right, it is a blessing to be scolded by blue-headed vireos; we were swiftly mobbed by more warblers than I have ever seen at Chekika). We also saw a single singing meadowlark.
At Barnes I encountered the largest flock of warblers and vireos that I have seen this year, around the Nature Center at approximately 3:00pm. Later, near H. Hammock I saw the following, but no Magnolia and no Wilson's:
Blue-headed vireo
Summer tanager
Brown-crested flycatcher
E. Phoebe
Black-throated green (fem; I saw a male near the Nature center)
Black and white
Yellow-throated
Yellow-rumped
Northern Parula
I saw/heard what I thought were wrens in the pineland area of Barnes, but did not get a good enough look to ID.
