The Black-throated Gray Warbler was repeatedly seen by the group of seven birders present between 8 and 9:30 AM. Upon arrival at 7:30 AM the site was dead quiet, but almost from one minute to the next became frenetic just about exactly at 8:00. The bird was moving a lot from tree to tree and it helped to have the group spread out to canvass more area simultaneously.
I then made the short drive over to Fern Forest (201 South Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, to look for the Nashville Warbler and found it almost right away about 30 yards up the boardwalk from the parking lot on the way to the nature center. The bird was near eye-level in a small tree on the left (sun) side and seemed to be keeping company with a single white-eyed Vireo as both birds suddenly appeared together and then just as quickly disappeared together. This was about a ten-second view and unfortunately the Nashville flew before I could get any pictures and I was unable to relocate it despite looking for some thirty minutes. I will go back and try again.
