Went with another birder yesterday to Dump Marsh late afternoon yesterday in hopes of seeing nighthawks and owls. There were other birders there also in search of lesser nighthawks (some came all the way from Orlando) but "no cigar". As nocturnal as we got was a Black-Crowned Night-Heron. My friend did see his first Tropical Kingbird so it was still a good time. Saw the following (including a brief stop to Cutler Wetlands) from 4:30 PM through 6:30 PM:

Pied-Billed Grebe
DC Cormorant
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Little Blue Heron
Tricolored Heron
Black-Crowned Night-Heron
Glossy Ibis
White Ibis
Wood Stork
Mottled Duck
N. Shoveler
Blue-Winged Teal
Green-Winged Teal
Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Osprey
A. Kestrel
Merlin
N. Harrier
C. Moorhen
A.. Coot
Killdeer
Avocet
Greater Yellowlegs
Long-Billed Dowitcher
Ring-Billed Gull
Mourning Dove
Collared Dove
Eastern Phoebe
Tropical Kingbird
Loggerhead Shrike
N. Rough-Winged Swallow
N. Mockingbird
Starling
Palm Warbler
Red-Winged Blackbird
Boat-Tailed Grackle

Also saw the caiman at Dump Marsh.
