13 participants only 55 species of birds
We worked hard for our birds today. Fern Forest was quiet. A flock of Cedar Waxwings started the day heard by a few in the group. The group got good looks at a Yellow throated Warbler, Black and White Warbler and vireos.
Then we went to Cypress Creek canal area and the entire group got great looks at a Summer Tanager and a Painted Bunting. We then went on the Hillsboro pineland but failed to find a Sedge Wren. At Windmill Park we added Black bellied whistling Duck, Lesser Scaup, Mottled Duck and Redstart and numerous wading birds. We all got great looks at a Burrowing Owl at BCC. We ended at the NW 21ave restoration area where we all got great looks at a Black throated Gray Warbler.
