ITINERARY TAS TRIP SATURDAY JAN 17, 2009 NORTH BROWARD
Start: Fern Forest, Coconut Creek on Lyons Road south of Atlantic. 8 AM. Target: Wintering Passerines.
Stop 1: Cypress Creek Restoration Area/ Canal- Cypress Creek/ NW15th Ave. We will leave Fern forest, south on Lyons to east on Cypress Creek, north on NW 15th Ave. Target: Summer Tanager
Stop 2: Return to Fern Forest: Lunch (bathrooms available).
Stop 3: Hillsboro Pinelands- North from Fern Forest on to Sample west to 441 then go north, just north of Hillsboro Blvd the Pineland will be on the right. Target: Sedge Wren
Stop 4: Windmill Park, Coconut Creek, turn south on 441 from Pinelands return to Sample east and Lyons south. After crossing Coconut Creek Parkway, Windmill Park will be on your left. (Bathrooms available). Target: wintering ducks
Stop 5: Broward Community College: North on Lyons to east at Coconut Creek to south at Chevron station. Targets: Burrowing Owl, American Bittern.
Stop 6: Environmental Restoration Area in N Lauderdale, From BCC turn east to Powerline rd, south to Prospect, then north on NW 21st. Area in on left.
Stop 7: Pompano Landfill Lakes, Retrace to Powerline, north cross Sample, turn east on Green Road and then left in Roto Rooter parking lot. Target Lesser Black Back Gulls
