The Great Cormorant was again reliably perched on the green No. 5 channel marker at Port Everglades today from 2 to 3 PM, viewed from the very end of John U. Lloyd S.P. The bird prefers the highest possible spot, adjacent to the green lamp and higher up than the several Double-crested Cormorants keeping it company. Unfortunately the jetty walk along the channel, which would allow one to get much closer to the bird, is cordoned off so a telescope is necessary for a decent look. Here's a digiscoped photo:
