I haven't read Jackson's book, but I am wondering if he mistakenly forgot to mention Pinellas County as a place an Ivory-billed specimen has come from, or was it the above poster who forgot to include Pinellas? But anyway, W.E.D. Scott collected three, from near Tarpon Springs (TS), on 17 Mar 1887. He once wrote that in one particular area near TS he saw "11 others".

Just the other day the Cornell University Ivory-billed Woodpecker project director, Ron Raurbaugh, gave a presentation about their work at a talk he gave in Clearwater. He was well prepared.

This month and next his team of researchers will be looking for Ivory-billed evidence in the mangrove forests below Naples. It would appear they have given up on the Arkansas search for one reason or another.
