we're planning a trip there. I'll take that as a non-cancellable invite.
Panthers are nightly appearing in the Devil's Acre area SW Lake Okeechobee, and seen somewhat regularly at Royal Palm/Research Road area. Most reports I get tend to be "surprise" appearances. I believe a night scope and slow drive or walk on Research Road could be productive. All of my "reports" are dusk-time or early evening.
One of the most productive scrub jay shoots I had was at Merritt back from the ponds at a crossroad. There were scrub jays everywhere and more people began to stop until we had about 10 cars there. It reminded me of a "bear jam" at Yellowstone. Funny thing, the birds were not well groomed, not at all like our blue-jays.
