Did some new years birding this afternoon in southern Palm Beach county. Green Cay had the usual ducks and waders, and we found Purple Gallinule, Sora, and Limpkin. Northern Rough-winged Swallows numbered around ten. Always a pleasant walk.

Wakodahatchee had less of the same birds, but we added Wilson's Snipe and Black-and-white Warbler.

The Least Grebe was at Yamato Scrub, thankfully. Anyone working on year lists should go back for this amazing bird soon. The pond also contained Green-winged Teal, Ring-necked Ducks, and a Sora in the open.

We could not find the Smooth-billed Anis along Old Griffen Road in Ft. Lauderdale. A dark morph Short-tailed Hawk was in Miami Shores as I pulled into the drive way.
