I observed a White-tailed Kite again today (presumably, the same one I saw last Wednesday) near the end of Research Road in ENP. I stopped just before the second bend in the road (the one that leads to the missile base) at about 8:30 a.m. looking for Sedge Wrens (not there today) and found the kite nearly a mile distant, to the west in a tall dead bush. While you can locate and ID this largely white-and-light-gray bird with binoculars, you'll need a good scope to observe it preening, stretching its wings, etc. At 60X, you can even see the red eye.
