There was a Great Cormorant on channel marker # 5 off the south jetty at the northeast corner of J. U. Lloyd State park late this afternoon; presumably the same one that has used the same perch for the last three winters. During the half hour that I observed the bird over 100 mostly adult Northern Gannets passed southward further offshore. A scope is necessary to get adequate views of the bird.
