OK, since my previous post seems to be having problems, let's try this again.

Bill, Trey, and I went to Dump Marsh before dawn and found the Canada Goose roosting with a flock of Wood Storks in the back end of the pond behind the wastewater facility. At 6:41 the Goose flew off towards the north. We then went to Black Point where the only bird of interest was a Franklin's Gull among a small flock floating in the basin on the north side of the jetty. There were other huge flocks floating farther south, but they were too far away to ID Franklin's in them. We didn't see any of the more "Obvious" gulls (Glaucus, Iceland), but like I said, they were FAARRR away.

Next stop was the large quarry lake on 107 Ave 1.3 miles south of SW 248 St. Here we found 4 Lesser Scaup (2 females, 2 males). At first they were 4 tiny dots at the SE corner of the lake, but as we were driving back Bill sptted them at the NW corner and we got great looks. Nice when they pose like that.

Arriving back at Dump at 10:30, we found the Tropical Kingbird flycatcher from the west side of the fence that surrounds the wastewater facility. If anyone tries to take photographs, please don't approach closer than 15 feet so as not to disturb this bird. Thanks you.

I am celebrating a great birding morning with a Stone Brewing IPA right now, but I have a Schneider & Sonn Aventinus Eisbock saved for later.

Cheers!
