Sunday morning I got up to Pelican Island for the Fork-tail. After 4 hours and 20 other birders, no signs of the little darling. MINR very crowded Sunday afternoon. I lot of ducks. Viera wetlands was very slow midday Sunday. Monday morning 42 degrees and at about 9am very active. Clapper rails and Soras just past #4, 1000's of Widgeons and Pintails and Bluewing Teal and about 150 Hooded Merganzers, 3 Snow Geese by #8, Rosy's at #5 and #8, White Pelican, Woodstorks and all the normal waders. No Avocets. It was worth missing work.
