Black-crowned Night Heron

There was a Black-crowned Night Heron seen today. He was hanging out on a harbor near the Crandon Marina. He was on top of the long green tarp. Also seen were Great Blue Herons, Gray Kingbirds, Frigatebirds, and many types of lizards. Among the better lizards were Ameivas, and Green and Mexican Spiny-tailed Iguanas.
A count of lizard species on Key Biscayne and Virginia Key came to a total of 13 species, with only 2 native lizards.
