I fought sleep deprivation and headed up to Yamato Scrub in Boca Raton for the first time. I quickly spotted the two young Least Grebes feeding alongside a Pied-billed Grebe in the north pond. Mottled Ducks and a Green-winged Teal fed in the south pond. A beautiful Sharp-shinned Hawk was perched near the lake.
I swung by Old Griffen for the Smooth-billed Anis and cruised for about twenty minutes, but only saw an American Kestrel.
