Today I went to Balck point for fishing and birding. I fished in the shore and actually caught a mullet. For the birding part I saw:
Least Tern
White-Ibis
Great White Heron
Green Heron
Laughing Gull
Boat-tailed grackle
Mockingbird
Loggerhead Shrike
Black Vulture
After that I left Blackpoint, but just after we left I saw a hawk just like the one I saw at my house. It stopped in a pole. I went to see it and it was a Red-shouldered Hawk. That meant that the bird I saw at my house before WASEN"T a Coopers hawk. Sorry. Next time I'll be really sure first before I post it. I guess I'm going to have wait till winter to see the cooper. Also in the small river their were HUGE redfish.
Later on I got Alex advice to go to see the Cave Swallow close by. I got there and looked under the bridge. There were a really big numbers of cave swallows coming in and out of the bridge. The nest were made from small pebbles of mud. The cave swallows were lifers for me. Thats about all I did. I'll keep posting. Great Birding!
