Welcome to the world of South Florida exotica. You saw a Common Myna, a bird now under consideration by the ABA Records Committee as a countable species. Their numbers have rapidly increased over the last 10 years. I saw at least three of them going to their nests (street lights) on the way to work this morning in Hialeah. The species is oncuded in the Sibley guide, which is available from Tropical Audubon Society on this website.
