Birding is very active at Hoechoka Hammock (Sawgrass & University). I watched a Cooper's hawk make a pass at a feeder filled with dove. Warblers were plentiful this morning; palm, pine, prairie, also blue gray gnatcatchers, and several black throated blue warblers. And biggest surprise of all a large kettle of black vultures tacking into the north wind and flying n by ne. Killdeer came in at about 10:00 A.M. First killdeer of the year for the Hammock area.
