My son Philip and I went down to Pa-hay-okee in Everglades National Park this morning, to look for the reported Rusty Blackbird. Just before we got to the parking lot of Pa-hay-okee, we saw the Rusty Blackbird feeding in the road and in the mowed grass next to the road. We were able to watch the bird at close range for as long as we wanted to. It is a very cooperative bird that I hope sticks around. We watched the bird catch a small frog and eat it. In the photo that I posted you can see one of the legs of the tasty frog. My thanks go out to Gavin Bieber for calling me to tell us of his great sighting!
