For the past month or so, I have been hearing a bird calling out in the parking lot at night. Today, I arrived a little later than usual to my apartment complex. I was listening to the call, and I looked up at the roof of one of the buildings. I saw the dark silhouette of an owl. I had my binoculars in my backpack.
There was just enough light to put a solid ID on it.
It was a Barn Owl! Apparently, it is now living in the area, as I have been hearing it nightly for quite a while now.
