tOday me and Alex went birding for an hour in morningside park and the surrounding area of the neighborhood. alex got me into birds about a month ago.
we got some new birds for me. he found a bird called a great crested flycather wich he said is not common in a neighborhood like this. we also found blueheaded parakeets, frigatebirds, anhinga, herons, ibis, sea gulls, cooper hawks, chimney swifts, pelicans, doves, crows, mergansers, blue jays, orioles, cardinals, parrots and alot others. my favorite birds so far are the orioles. alex called them spot-breasted orioles, but i think there baltimore orioles.
