It's not often that we see Gray Kingbirds associating with their wintering cousins. This group entertained me for 15 minutes this morning (11/10). From top to bottom: Western Kingbird, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Gray Kingbird, Scissortailed-Flycatcher. Both Scissor-tails seemed to be second year birds.

In addition, usual transition-type birds were in the park, including 10 warbler species, buntings, raptors and the obligatory squabbling Eastern Phoebes every 20 yards. Of interest (to me): Northern Harrier, Cooper's, Sharp-shinned and Short-tailed Hawks, American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon; Black-throated Green Warbler, Northern Waterthrush; Painted and Indigo Buntings. Tree Swallow numbers were down from 300+ yesterday to ~200.
