I went over around 8:30 with the girls hoping to relocate the bird, but my hopes quickly faded when I ran into Jeanette who said that several birders had failed to relocate it earlier. I went to the south side of the treatment plant anyway since I was already there and of course didn't find it. I then went back towards the front of the treatment plant and then checked out the east side of the fence to the facility. I quickly spotted the two Tropical Kingbirds perched on the fence, with a Myarchus flycatcher in between them. I'm pretty sure this is the bird seen yesterday. It had the pale whitish throat, paler yellow starting farther down on the belly, and somewhat slimmer build than a Great-crested. I tried to get into better position, but I didn't get a look at the one field mark that would have been the clincer: the undertail, hence the "probable." No matter where I stood the fence got in the way. I observed the bird on the fence for a couple of minutes before it flew fowards the brush to the east. My guess is it's working the edge of the brush all along the east side of the pond. While observing the flycatcher, a Lincoln's Sparrow popped up just below me in the grassy area alog the fence.

How do you beat a Golden-winged Warbler behind a Nashville? Easy - an Ash-throated Flycatcher between two Tropical Kingbirds 30 feet away at eye level! I may not be able to go back until Tuesday morning, but I hope someone can relocate this bird and take a look at the undertail.

Awesome birding!
