Some of you know this person, especially if you've ever been out to STA-5 on any of the tours. When the URL opens and the photo is shown, you can click on it to enlarge it. The little girl in the photo is none other than Margaret England of the Hendry-Glades Audubon Society & liaison for the STA-5 birding tours with SFWMD. Margaret grew up at the Sanibel Lighthouse where were father was the lighthouse keeper, long before the Sanibel Causeway was even there and the hordes of tourists and monied developers arrived. Can you even imagine what a terrific childhood that would be living on an island paradise? Well, I'm sure that there were times when it wasn't so much fun, but still, how idyllic is that? How many of those shells can still be found off of Sanibel I wonder? My guess, is not too many!
